Finnair, Skyscanner and Amadeus join forces to enhance conversion with assisted bookings

Like all retailers, airlines wish to maintain close contact with their clients so that they can tailor their shopping encounter and make it as simple and customised as possible. With this goal in mind, Finnair is working with Amadeus to start a new solution, Amadeus Altea NDC, which is based on IATA’ s NDC (New Distribution Capability) XML-based messages standard.

Finnair can be piloting the solution with Skyscanner, among the world’ s leading metasearch websites. Travellers purchasing Finnair flights through Skyscanner can complete their buy without leaving the Skyscanner system, with a seamless process from lookup to booking.

This particular new NDC API from Amadeus offers an additional distribution option for vacation retailers to integrate Finnair’ t flights, seats and ancillaries. Additionally, it adds to Amadeus’ existing assisted reserving portfolio aimed at boosting conversion intended for airlines in the increasingly important meta channel.
