Here's how single people of all ages feel about these hotly debated love topics

With every Valentine’s Day comes the unavoidable question all single people silently ask themselves: Does everyone else hate this as much as I do?

Hater, the dating app that matches people based on their mutual dislikes, revealed just how divided generations are on certain hot-topic issues in the world of dating. The data is split by user age — from age 15 to 40 — to clearly illustrate the difference of opinion across generations.

Per Hater, when it comes to Valentine’s Day in general, it looks like commercialized holiday cynicism has yet to take hold of teenagers. Meanwhile, folks in their 20s and 30s are more disillusioned.

But what about Galentine’s Day, the holiday created by Parks and Recreation designed to celebrate girl friends everywhere? Between 60% and 70% of people in their early twenties are enthusiastic about the holiday, while almost 70% of folks in their 40s aren’t into the idea. Maybe they just don’t get the reference?

When it comes to hotly debated male grooming and fashion trends, 60% of teens these days are apparently into man buns, while nearly 80% of older adults hate them.

Meanwhile, Hater found that an appreciation for dad bods naturally increases with age. There’s a sharp decrease from the 80% of teens who hate ’em to the 60% of twenty-somethings who do. The stats even briefly pass into the “Love” category for folks between the ages of 35 and 40.

Chest hair preference increases dramatically with age, with nearly 90% of teens hating it and about 60% of people in their late 30s loving it.

Goatees, however, remained universally hated. Older people hate them less, but even still, only 40% of older people like them.

It’s a good thing that condoms fall firmly in the “Love” category, but it’s interesting that the younger generation has more positive feelings toward them than do their older counterparts.

Hitting “the club” and using pick-up lines seems to be a younger person’s game. As age increases, interest in a night out at a crowded club decreases significantly.

For whatever reason, older people seem to enjoy … spontaneous boners? Perhaps they don’t remember their awkward teenage days at all.

And for whatever reason, younger people are kind of into sloppy kissing. Oh, young ones — one day you will no longer look back on the wet, spitty kisses of your youth fondly.

One thing’s for sure — most people using Hater hate Tinder! Well, except for that small blip of college-aged people, but that’s to be expected.

Last but not least, Kegels provoke an overwhelmingly positive reaction for everyone. Hey, we can all benefit from pelvic-floor exercises, no matter our age.

Make sure to use this information for good, not evil, as you go forth into your hated (or, maybe, beloved; we won’t judge you) Valentine’s Day.
