Africa’s tourism growth slow

Africa continues to be among the least visited continents in the global world despite vigorous efforts to reverse the trend.

According a scholarly study by the planet Tourism Organisation, Africa was the next least visited region following the Americas, between January and June 2018 recording four % growth in tourist arrivals.
The major reason, notes the report titled World Tourism Barometer, is low traveller confidence in Africa.
Europe, Asia and the Pacific led growth with a seven % upsurge in arrivals each. Middle East and the Americas saw five % and three % growth.
