Still pissed at Amazon for jacking up the Prime price by $20?
We’ll just leave this here: Walmart is now offering free 2-day shipping without any membership fees for orders over $35.
Waiting 5-7 business days for your package to come is basically an ancient practice. From losing headphones and needing a new pair immediately to forgetting mom’s birthday with three days to spare, that speedy shipping is a necessity.
For the past few years, Amazon was *the* place to get that — until they upped the Prime price to $119/year, leaving a lot of people to choose between keeping the benefits or saving 20 bucks every year. If you’re in on Prime for non-shipping perks like Amazon Prime Video, paying the new price might still be justifiable. But if you only need free shipping, is the $119 really worth it?
Walmart is now sliding into the hearts of impatient and procrastinating shoppers everywhere by offering free 2-day shipping on all orders over $35, no membership required.
Their previous gig, ShippingPass, was a $50/year membership that let customers get quick, free shipping on all orders — but even that couldn’t compete with Prime. So what did they do? Got rid of the membership requirement altogether, and lowered the qualifying price to just $35 (it was previously $50). Savage.
Millions of your favorite items are eligible for the free shipping, from non-produce groceries and cleaning supplies to Instant Pots and Google Home devices. Items eligible for 2-day shipping are clearly marked (like these Bose headphones). To activate the “free” part, just spend over $35.
Summer is the perfect time for this, too — last-minute vacations and party plans will be inevitable, and you’ll never know when you need to get your hands on a camping tent or a Bluetooth speaker pronto.
Walmart is really living up to that “Save money, live better” motto, huh? Start shopping here.
