Anguilla Welcome Reception For Visitors

The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) is treating visitors to the island to an especially warm Anguillian welcome at both ports of entry, the Clayton J Lloyd International Airport (CJLIA) and the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal.

Twice a month, on the busiest arrival days at the respective ports of entry, visitors to the island will be welcomed with refreshments and gift items, courtesy of the local stakeholders. The ATB is partnering with local stakeholders from every sector of the industry — accommodations, service providers, destination management companies, and other tourism auxiliaries — to ensure that the program is sustainable over the long term. Starting as a pilot program in April, the ATB will greet both the arriving and departing guests at the two ports of entry.

“We are constantly working to enhance our visitors’ experience,” declared the Hon. Minister of Tourism, Mr. Haydn Hughes.  “We are known for our hospitality, and we recognize the importance of ensuring that both the first and last impressions of our island are equally memorable.”

“We appreciate the generous support of our stakeholders with this program,” said Mrs. Stacey Liburd, Director of Tourism. “This is truly a collaborative effort, and we are delighted to see one of the main goals of the Destination Experience Unit coming to fruition.”

Visitors have expressed their own support and appreciation for this new initiative, reflected in the many positive posts and comments on the ATB’s social channels.  “First time on the MIA to AXA flight and couldn’t have imagined a lovelier arrival experience!”, posted LBW.  “You set the bar high for a welcome experience! thank you so much,” enthused JKP.  “Saw this crew Saturday. What a delightful bunch!”, shared BS.

“Aurora Anguilla is delighted to be part of this extraordinary welcome to the island,” said Christopher Walling, Vice President of Operations for Salamander Hotels & Resorts and Managing Director for Aurora Anguilla. “Sharing Aurora’s warm hospitality even before guests arrive to the resort sets the tone for a distinctive vacation.”

The first welcome reception took place on April 16th at the CJLIA. Subsequent receptions were held on May 21st with Aurora Anguilla Resort, and on May 27that Blowing Point, in partnership with Tropical Distributors.
