Azerbaijan eyes to develop co-op with Russia’s regions in tourism sector

Azerbaijan intends to redirect the flow of incoming tourists from the western direction to the regions of Russia, including the Altai region.

This was stated during the talks between Deputy Chairman of the Altai region’s government Viktor Meshcheryakov and Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency Fuad Nagiyev.

In this regard, the representatives of Azerbaijan intend to participate in one of the tourism exhibitions in the Altai region, as well as establish direct contacts with travel companies of this region.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of a tourist complex in the Altai region and Azerbaijan.

Nagiyev said that currently Azerbaijan is promoting tourism services in the regions of Russia.

It was noted that historical and cultural monuments, as well as rest on the coast of the Caspian Sea, are especially attractive for Russian tourists in Azerbaijan.
