Take benefit of rural tourism: Jamawi

Tenom: The neighborhood communities here have already been urged to make use of the huge potential that rural tourism can generate for them.
Kemabong Assemblyman Jamawi Jaafar said, there are several interesting spots in the district, that may generate income if they’re exploited.
“I’ve visited various villages here plus some have beautiful nature which is often converted into recreational sits,” he said while observing the completion of a recreational centre at Kampung Gumisi Kemabong, here, recently.
He also said the locals can produce and market their crafts, traditional homestays and food to the visitors.
“Because the elected representative here, I’d like to see Kemabong becoming the best option among all districts in the inside which includes new attractions particularly when a number of the areas have its historical backgrounds.”
Jamawi said the arrival of tourists in to the district increase after the national government upgrade the primary road here.
“Usually do not be worried about marketing our products as the vast majority of the villages have internet coverage that will enable them to advertise the merchandise online,” he said.
