BINIBINING Cebu Tourism 2017 Samantha Lo was hailed as one of the grand winners in the Global Asian Model (GLAM) Philippines 2018 held at XYLO at The Palace in Taguig City last Nov. 8.

Lo, who represented Cebu, won the Best Model of the World Philippines 2018 for female category.

In a text message to Cebu Daily News yesterday, Lo said she feels blessed for winning her first national competition.

“I feel very honored and humbled to have been chosen from the day of screening until now and all the people who have put the time and energy into training me and my fellow models and supporting me. I feel very lucky to have the strong support system of my family, friends, and GLAM team,” she said.

Lo said she had to exercise every day and eat healthy as part of her preparations.

She also studied the walks of international models like Gigi Hadid and Naomi Campbell.

This is the second competition she had joined after her successful stint in Binibining Cebu 2017.

GLAM Philippines is a modeling competition in the country organized by Jonas Gaffud, owner and president of Empire Philippines and Mercator Artist and Model Management Inc.

Other grand winners in the competition are Vince Lenard Marcelo and Ella Eiveren Lubag who clinched the GLAM Philippines 2018 titles for the male and female categories, respectively, while Jeff Langan bagged the Manhunt Philippines 2018.

Last September, Gaffud announced on his Instagram account that winners in Best Model of the World Philippines 2018 will compete in the Best Model of the World pageant in Istanbul in December 2018.

Aaron Davis, who clinched the Best Model of the World Philippines 2018 for the male category, will be flying next month together with Lo for the international competition.

“I will continue to build my dreams as a model and it is something I am very passionate about it and just feel so blessed
to have this opportunity. I want to enjoy every minute of it,” Lo said.

A Nursing student of University of Cebu (UC) Banilad, Lo is currently on a school break to pursue her career in modeling and pageantry.

She also confirmed that she will be joining Binibining Pilipinas next year.
