South Africa’s Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation also known as the Hawks is conducting a search and seizure operation at Free State Gambling Liquor and Tourism Board Offices in Bloemfontein.
According to the Hawks, the raid is in connection with the alleged fraud and corruption and possible money laundering where two companies were awarded tenders worth approximately R150 million during June 2017, without following due procedures.
“The Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation Unit is currently conducting a search and seizure operation at Free State Gambling Liquor and Tourism Board Offices in Bloemfontein.”
The directorate said there will be no arrest at this point due to ongoing investigations.
