TRAT – One person was was killed and 13 other people injured when a pickup truck taking fruit pickers to work ran off the road and hit a tree in Muang district on Thursday morning.
The crash occurred on Tha Pradu-Chang Klue road in tambon Huay Raeng around 7.40am, police said.

The pickup, with Chanthaburi licence plates, was taking Thai and Cambodian workers to a fruit plantation in Muang district of this eastern province.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the road and hit a tree before coming to a stop in a ditch.
One fruit picker died at the scene of the crash, and 13 other people were injured and rushed to nearby hospitals.
Witnesses told police they heard a loud sound like a tyre bursting before the vehicle veered off the road into the tree.
Police were investigating.
