A low pressure system covers the Gulf of Thailand and the South, with a strong easterly wind, and is forecast to bring very heavy rain to 19 provinces from today until Friday, the Meteorological Department said on Wednesday.
The 19 provinces are Prachuap Khiri Khan in the lower Central region; Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Ranong, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun in the South; and Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat in the East.
People in the South should beware of possible flash floods.
Waves in the Gulf of Thailand are expected to be about two metres high, and more during thundershowers. All vessels are advised to proceed with caution.
