Hotels in Pune continue steadily to accept bookings on online travel portals

Pune: Hotels in the town have clarified they would honour bookings made on online travel aggregators amid an escalating standoff with three portals.
OYO Rooms has joined two other portals — GoIbibo and makemytrip — in drawing flak from hoteliers over their alleged unfair practices.because the conflict spilt out in to the open

We’ve also received complaints on OYO not sticking with preset base rates promised to the hotels. Rate for just one room was reduced minus the owner’s consent,” advocate Sujay Joshi, representing hotel owners in Pune, said.

However, the allegations were denied by an OYO source. “On a monthly basis payment was created to all hoteliers by the end of. Discussing the discrepancies over bookings, OYO includes a dedicated cluster manager per 3-4 hotels. So, minus the consent of the cluster manager and the hotel owner concerned, prices can’t be lowered below the set rate,” the foundation said.

The source said prices are lowered only in the event of bulk bookings. “On December 8 in the event a hotel has 20 vacant rooms, and an OYO customer wants a bulk booking of 10, 15 or 20 rooms at a lesser price, we align the cluster manager and the hotel owner to simply accept the booking at less price. The purchase price gets modified only following the approval of the hotel owner,” the foundation explained having an example.

“The OYO website hosts only OYO partner hotels. We have been bound to fulfill customers not merely with confirmed bookings, however in providing good service also. We do this as the hotel staff is trained by us and the available rooms are audited on a monthly basis,” the OYO source added.
