The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has suspended the P2 per minute of travel time extra charge of Grab Philippines.
In an order dated April 18, the LTFRB said the suspension was “pending extensive review and resolution on the issue” and would be effective “until further order of the board.”
The order was signed by LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra III, and by Board Members Aileen Lizada and Ronaldo Corpus.
It was attested to by Executive Director Samuel Jardin.
Grab Philippines had argued the LTFRB was informed of the extra charge during a technical working group meeting in July 2017, but LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra III said this was only “after the fact.”
PBA Rep. Jericho Nograles has said Grab Philippines should refund rides around P3.2 billion as a result.
