Minister of Tourism and Arts Charles Banda has urged Zambians to take an interest in knowing and understanding the country’s tourist sites.

Mr. Banda says this can help in improving the tourism sector.

He says Zambia’s heritage such as culture, ceremonies and natural resources must be understood for what they represent if tourists are to be more interested in them.

Mr. Banda made the remarks in his keynote address at the opening of a panel discussion focusing on Zambia under the theme, “Maximizing Heritage Interpretation for Tourism Promotion and Development” at the International Tourism conference in Germany.

This is contained in a statement issued by first Secretary at the Zambian Embassy in Germany – Kellys Kaunda.
