Lake Wanaka Tourism Shortlisted in Prestigious Travel Marketing Awards
Wanaka, New Zealand (Tuesday March 6, 2018) Lake Wanaka Tourism (LWT) has been shortlisted as a Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards finalist, in the ‘Best Use of Native or Content Marketing’ category for their 2017 #skiWanaka campaign.
Australia’s only dedicated travel marketing awards attracts entries from the very best agencies across PR, media and advertising teams worldwide, that deliver outstanding work and results for travel brands and destinations.
LWT’s General Manager James Helmore said, to be included in a shortlist that includes; Clemenger BBDO, Flare BBDO, Groove Q, One Green Bean, UM and Tourism Australia is a major achievement.
“LWT adopted a fresh approach of marketing ski to Australians in 2017 and to be named a finalist amongst such an esteemed group is definitely validation of this strategy, the quality of content produced, and the results achieved.
Ski is a vital sector for this region, and this campaign was successful on so many levels. Website traffic to the ski landing page increased by 72% and referrals to ski partner pages up a phenomenal 200% from the previous year. Visitor nights and arrivals for the winter quarter reached record levels up 12.1% & 9.5% respectively, stay length increased by 2.3%, and spend from Australian visitors for the period June – Sept 2017 equated to $42 million up 13.5% from 2016, all well ahead of NZ wide trends.”
The Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards will take place in Sydney April 12, where the winners will be announced.
