Lotte project seeks to bolster tourism and local business in Busan

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has today (11 July) hosted an event to support local business in Busan.

The event, which saw the retailer partner with tourism authorities in Busan to host a seminar for more than 100 major officials from the region, gave young businesses the chance to promote their work and network. The young businesses set up booths and shared an outline of their projects.

Local heroes: Lotte has committed to supporting upcoming business in the Busan area

The event is part of Lotte’s efforts to support tourism and the local economy in Busan. Since March, the retailer has provided ₩40 million (US$34,083) in grants to a number of developing companies in the area.

Lotte Duty Free Marketing Director Kim Jeong-hyeon said: “I am looking forward to the growth of young businesses to contribute to the development of the tourism industry in Busan through this project.”
