Announcing the facts of the KTM 2018 at a press conference, Kerala tourism minister Kadakampally Surendran said the opening of Kannur airport this season would noticeably raise tourism in the Malabar region in north Kerala.
“This season with the inauguration of Kannur airport, the influx of tourists to Malabar region shall increase. The implementation of the Malabar river cruise project, covering nine rivers, has begun already. The national government has sanctioned Rs 53.5 crore because of this scheme in the initial phase,” Surendran said.
“Representatives from 73 countries will be attending the upcoming edition of the KTM. This is the best participation from in the annals of the KTM abroad,” the minister added. He also noted that 350 international buyers and 890 domestic buyers have confirmed their participation..
Baby Mathew Somatheeram, president KTM, year said the tenth edition of the function could have 320 sellers in comparison to 261 last. “Around 411 booths will be create at the venue. You will have a Kerala tour for 50 foreign mediapersons to the KTM prior,” he said..
