Teenager arrested at Liverpool airport over Dovecot stabbing

Two teenagers have been arrested in suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed after being confronted by a gang in Dovecot.

The 38-year-old suffered serious injuries after being attacked on Aldwark Road on Wednesday, February 21.

Today police took to social media to confirm a 15-year-old boy, from Huyton was arrested at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on suspicion of attempted murder. The arrest happened on February 27.

And a second 15-year-old boy, from Dovecot, was arrested on February 23, also on suspicion of attempted murder.

Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The victim, who was later to be in a stable condition, was stabbed after being approached just before 11pm on the night in question.

His attackers then fled the scene on foot in the direction of Page Moss Lane.

A large section of Aldwark Road was closed off with forensics officers spotted searching the street.

Merseyside Police said at the time that witnesses were being spoken with and CCTV was being sought.
