Ministry of Tourism developing facilities in North Batinah

Hassan bin Sulaiman bin Abdullah al Jabri, director of Tourism Department, in North Batinah said that the ministry has provided all facilities for investment in the tourism sector through the introduction of a number of plots according to usufruct requirements.

The ministry is studying the need of the market for hotel facilities and other entertainment and tourism activities.

He said that in near future two projects will be launched on tourist lands – a three-star hotel in Al Aqar area in the wilayat of Shinas, in addition to an environmental tourist camp in Al Samaida area in the wilayat of Saham near Batinah Expressway.

The allocation of a number of tourist lands in the concession areas is done in coordination with government institutions to put them for investment in time.

In the governorate, Jabri said there are 13 hotels and an equal number of hotel apartments. The governorate also has two guest houses and one green hotel project.

The Department of Tourism in North Batinah issues tourist licences for hotel establishments and travel and tourism offices, and follow up the level of service provided by these institutions on a regular basis. It also notifies them of all developments in addition to issuing e-notifications for the owners of licensed tourism commercial activities near the end of the validity of tourist licences to start renewal procedures.

The Department of Tourism aims to hold workshops from time to time with the aim of introducing the activities and tasks carried out by the ministry through various available channels, whether through the municipal council or awareness lectures in schools.
