More out state spending driving better marketing results for Tourism Commission

The Executive Director of the Nebraska Tourism Commission says hawaii is getting greater results using its marketing by spending more of this money out of state.

John Ricks says taking the message to people beyond Nebraska has led to record high one percent lodging tax collections in four of the initial eight months in 2018.

Ricks said, ” By moving the amount of money out of state, we created  in the entire year a sandhills crane only promotion earlier, and we re-marketed the social individuals who visited for the eclipse. Those ideas are  driving great results at this time really. ”

Ricks says the constant state ‘s passport program has prevailed in getting people in Nebraska to go to in-state attractions. But Ricks said using marketing funds in-state is similar to “speaking with the choir”.

Ricks made the comments to the Rural Radio Network’s Dwight Lane while attending the annual Nebraska Tourism Conference in Nebraska City, tonite with the Celebrate Nebraska Awards banquet which ends.
