NAKHON RATCHASIMA: A man was killed after his motorcycle rammed into the rear of a pick-up truck in Muang district early on Sunday, police said.
Pol Lt Col Pongporn Ketupala, a Muang police investigator, said the accident occurred at about 4.55am at a bend on the Mitrapap Highway in front of Wat Salaloy temple.
Eyewitnesses said the motorcycle was travelling at high speed when it ran into the rear of the Toyota Mighty-X parked beside the road.
The motorcyclist, identified later as Wanchai Naemkrathok, 27, of Chalerm Phra Kiat district, died instantly. The body was sent by members of a rescue team to Maharat Hospital for examination.
Police were investigating the cause of the accident. It was initially suspected that the man was drunk.
