Murdered by ISIS, round-the-world cyclist couple who wrote of 'kind, lovely people' in travel blog
Two American cyclists who have been among four killed by Islamic State terrorists in Tajikistan had quit their jobs to ride round the global world, today their families revealed.
Lauren Geoghegan and Jay Austin, both 29, year to their dream adventure if they were run over  were a; by men in an automobile and stabbed to death  then;in the Central Asian country.
Mr Austin had earlier written in a blog he has been taught by the journey that humans were “ wonderful and generous and kind”.
They were among several seven cycling tourists who have been targeted in Sunday’s attack. Dutch psychologist Rene Wokke, 56, and Markus Hummel, 62, from Switzerland, died also.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the killings in the picturesque Pamir Mountains, about 100 miles of the Tajik capital Dushanbe south.

The national country has struggled with instability and poverty. Year the Americans started their journey last, using almost all their savings to invest in the trip, and had travelled through Europe, Central and africa Asia before arriving in Tajikistan.
They chronicled their adventure on a blog called SimplyCycling.
Ms Geoghegan’s parents, Elvira and robert, said in a statement: “The year-long bicycle adventure Lauren and her partner, Jay Austin, were enjoying was typical of her enthusiastic embrace of life’s opportunities, her openness to new places and folks, and her search for a better knowledge of the global world.” Ms Geoghegan had left her job in the admissions office at Georgetown University in Washington.

Her partner had worked in america Department of Housing and Urban Development for seven years.
“He was a gentle soul who cared concerning the world rather than leaving any footprint and leaving it an improved place,” said his mother, Jeanne Santovasco.
They had both been cycle commuters and made a decision to travel the global world until their savings ran out, in accordance with their website.

Another of the victims, Mr Wokke, was along with his partner, Kim Postma, 58, on a journey from Thailand to Iran. The couple, from Amsterdam, had made a decision to travel through Tajikstan in order to avoid Afghanistan since it was thought by them was too dangerous. They done a houseboat as foster parents, consuming troubled children. That they had travelled to a lot more than 130 countries on the bikes.
Markus Hummel, the fourth victim, and his partner, Marie-Claire Diemand, 59, both from Zurich, were cycling across the old Silk Road from China’s Xian to Kyrgyzstan. Both Ms Ms and Postma Diemand were treated because of their injuries in hospital. Frenchman Guillaume Kazabat was riding behind the primary group and had not been seriously hurt slightly.
With its breathtaking scenery, Tajikistan and neighbouring Kyrgyzstan are attracting an increasing number of adventure tourists, with 900,year 000 going to Tajikistan up to now this.
