Nebraska tourism guide includes a Kansas City attraction at The holiday season mistakenly

The 2018 Nebraska Official State Travel Guide showcases Scotts Bluff and Chimney Rock and also the Henry Doorly Zoo, Carhenge along with other fun stuff.

But in addition, it carries a picture of 1 attraction which has nothing in connection with Nebraska.

Right there on page 27 can be an uncredited photo finding out about at a tall Christmas tree toward the detailed ceiling of what should be a massive room.

The accompanying copy says: “Must-do event for little adventurers: Come winter, there is absolutely no better spot to start the growing season than Christmas at Union Station, where you could meet Santa himself by way of a 40-foot-tall Christmas tree.”

The only problem that&rsquo is;s not just a picture of Omaha’s Union Station. It’s Kansas City’s.

Omaha’s Union Station opened in 1931 with a 60-foot-high ceiling and is currently home to the Durham Museum.

Kansas City’s Union Station opened in 1914 with a 95-foot-high ceiling and is currently home to Science City Powered by Burns & McDonnell.

Both depots have ornate ceilings but there is absolutely no mistaking one for another.

Professional photographer Roy Inman, who takes images for Union Station Kansas City often, noticed the mishap while browsing reading material in a waiting room recently.

“It had been an image of OUR Union Station Christmas part and tree of the multi-colored, Jarvis Hunt-designed ceiling, however the copy blurb implied it had been the Omaha station,” Inman emailed to The Star.

Jenn Gjerde, marketing manager for the Nebraska Tourism Commission, said the mistake was a production error.

“This error has been taken to our we&rsquo and attention;ve notified the producers of the Guide,” she emailed with a smiley emoticon. “January and there&rsquo the brand new 2019 Travel Guide will undoubtedly be out in;s not just a picture of the KC Union Station for the reason that one.”

A spokesman for Kansas City’s Union Station was diplomatic concerning the flub.

“Omaha’s Union Station is really a beautiful structure, and much more when decorated for the holiday season even,” said Michael Tritt. “Both Union Stations have adorned ceilings and it&rsquo wonderfully;s easy to assume a mix-up by the untrained eye, when there&rsquo especially;s a massive, decorated holiday tree in the shot. Like Omaha, Kansas City’s Union Station is really a major holiday destination. They’re wished by us the most effective.”

Nebraska’october with the unveiling of the state&rsquo s tourism department made news in;s new slogan: “Honestly, it’s not for everybody.” The tongue-in-cheek motto, designed to draw visitors to hawaii that ranks 50th in tourism, {drew national attention hailed ://www as a “{self-deprecating new campaign marvelously.}”
