Qatar Airways, an airline that has received numerous awards, has revealed that it will be implementing Starlink‘s advanced high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi on three of its Boeing 777-300 planes by the end of this year. This decision is part of the initial phase of the airline’s plan to enhance the passenger experience on board, with the goal of gradually expanding the use of SpaceX-powered technology to all its modern aircraft within the next two years. The announcement was made during the second day of the Aircraft Interior Expo in Hamburg, Germany. Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, and Mr. Mike Nicolls, Vice President of Starlink Engineering at SpaceX, were present during the announcement.
With an ultra-fast Wi-Fi connection reaching speeds of up to 500 megabits per second per aircraft, passengers of Qatar Airways can easily access a high-speed, low-latency network with just one click. This allows them to enjoy a wide range of internet-based services, including streaming their favorite entertainment and sports videos, online gaming, enhanced web browsing, and more.
