Beer company BrewDog recently came out with a “beer for girls” called Pink IPA, and people are not happy about it.
Pink IPA is the same as the company’s Punk IPA simply with a different label, made to be a satirical illustration of lazy marketing efforts by other companies.
I’m going to take a wild guess and say if you have to put “#sarcasm” at the end of a joke, it’s probably not a great joke to begin with.
The beer will be available 20 percent cheaper for women than it is for men, and proceeds from BrewDog’s Punk IPA and Pink IPA will go toward charities that fight gender inequalities, which seems OK, but the marketing is misguided.
Some women made excellent observations:
Things women haven’t asked for:
A female Colonel Sanders
Rohypnol-detecting nail varnish
Things we have asked for:
No sexual harassment, thanks
Ditto for raping
Cadbury’s Creme Eggs all year round (that last one might just be me, though) https://t.co/lFx25zIkaD

And others just got right to the point:
Is it April Fools Day?
Fuck that right into the sea.

Once again, we have to ask: when are companies going to start getting it right?
