The Ainahau Tower room refresh at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, located on the former Ainahau Estate where Princess Victoria Kaiulani resided, has been officially completed. With great care and attention to detail, all 664 guestrooms have been refreshed to honor the rich history of Waikiki and Princess Kaiulani’s impeccable fashion sense. This renovation not only celebrates the hotel’s historical significance and the beauty of its natural surroundings but also revitalizes the original design of the hotel.

The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani underwent a redesign overseen by Michelle Jaime, the leader of Hawaii design firm The Vanguard Theory. The redesign incorporates local elements, such as the inclusion of Kailua artist Jenn Ellenburg’s photography in each room and upholstery provided by Native Hawaiian-owned NOHO HOME. NOHO HOME’s Founder, President, and Creative Director, Jalene Kanani Hitzeman, drew inspiration from the kui pattern, which represents the art of lei-making. As lei symbolizes the sharing of aloha, it was essential for NOHO HOME to incorporate the lei pattern to capture the essence of Hawaii’s spirit of aloha.
