No prohibited items found in prison search

SAMUT PRAKAN — About 400 police and prison staff searched the Central Samut Prakan Prison, also known as Khlong Dan Prison, shortly before dawn on Tuesday, but no prohibited items were found.

The 5am operation included random urine tests of inmates and targeted prohibited items such as mobile phones and drugs in sleeping quarters and lockers.

Krit Wongvej, the prison chief, said urine samples for drug testing were taken from 400 inmates chosen at random from the 5.970 at Khlong Dan Prison.

No traces of drugs or prohibited items were found in the search, which last abour an hour, he said.
