Perfect score for tourism
TOURISTS feeding wallabies on the beach, sipping rum at the Sugar Shed or watching a show at the MECC might say they are having the perfect time.
And according to the Best of Queensland Experiences Program, they would be right.
Six Mackay tourism operators have been judged by Tourism and Events Queensland to have a perfect score in their delivery of visitor experiences.

Cape Hillsborough Nature Tourist Park, Comfort Resort Blue Pacific, Shamrock Gardens, Mackay Resort Motel, Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre and the Sarina Sugar Shed all received a perfect 100 per cent score in their Best of Queensland accreditation.
Mackay Resort Motel Manager David Parry said it was an honour.
A further 35 Mackay region operators scored over 80, which grants them a Best of Queensland accreditation.
Mackay Tourism general manager Tas Webber said the performance of regional operators was a due to their commitment.
“The Mackay region may be blessed with spectacular natural assets, but it is the hard work and commitment to outstanding customer service from tourism operators that is the backbone of our region’s tourism industry,” Mr Webber said.
