Sharjah: Sharjah Police on Wednesday announced that it is reducing traffic fines by 50 per cent.
All black points will also be cancelled, the police announced.
The discounts and cancellations will take effect from October 19 until December 31.
In July, the Dubai Police announced that motorists who pay outstanding traffic fines incurred in 2016 or earlier can get a 50 per cent discount.
The order was issued by Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the occasion of the Year of Giving. The 50 per cent reduction in fines does not cover violations committed in 2017.
The Dubai Police said that motorists can avail of the discount of they pay through any of the 295 official channels, including RTA kiosks and the Dubai Police website.
