Uganda’s software developer Sky Code and the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) have developed an online portal and a mobile application that will help guide people around the interesting and historical spots of the city. The portal has a lot of information about tourism sites and related events in the city, plus information about where to eat or worship, Frank Luyinda Otto, the CEO of Sky Code told the New Vision. Besides information on tourism sites around the city, the mobile application has additional features like navigation, notifications on events happening around the city.
Martin Ssekagya, the deputy director for ICT at KCCA says the authority entered a partnership with the private firm to enable Kampalans and visitors to the city have a one stop centre for information.

The “Visit Kampala” mobile application is available to those with phones powered by Android operation system. Developers say the app will be available to Apple users soon.
