State plan demands bicycle travel safer, far more convenient

State officials are requesting the public’s feedback on a draft plan targeted at rendering it safer and much more convenient for cyclists.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says a technique emerges by the program to increase the usage of bike trails, also to prevent fatalities and injuries by designating bike and pedestrian thoroughfares.

The report offers several guiding principles, including a call to take care of all social people exactly the same whatever the mode of travel they choose, ending decades of policy that gave automobile travel priority over other modes.

MassDOT can be pledging to handle “missing links” in existing networks of bike lanes and paths that often discourage folks from using bicycles for everyday travel.

Anyone desperate to touch upon the draft plan is urged to take action online by Jan. 31.
