Telangana gets eight national tourism awards
HYDERABAD: Telangana Tourism department has won as many as eight prestigious national tourism awards from Ministry of Tourism, GoI.While Warangal bagged Best Heritage City award, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) got Civic Management of a Tourist Destination in India award.Best Tourism Promotion Publicity material award was given to Telangana tourism department for its theme book published in Mandarin language for China International Travel Mart. Swachhta award was given to Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation. Best Tourist Guide award was given to Kasinath Rao and Telangana Tourism Guide.
Hyderabad’s Chowmahalla Palace was given best Maintained and Disabled Friendly Monument award. Best Medical Tourism Facility award was given to Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. Leonia International Centre for Exhibition & Conventions, Hyderabad, was selected for Best Standlone Convention Centre award.Officials concerned including Telagana Tourism secretary B Venkatesham, received these eight awards from President Ram Nath Kovind at a programme held on the occasion of World Tourism Day at Vignan Bhavan in New Delhi on Wednesday.
