Tourism businesses meet key contacts

At the workshop in Dunboyne Castle, Co Meath were Oonagh Kelly, Fáilte Ireland, Kieran Flynn, Flynn’s Coaches and Janet Weafer, Dunboyne Castle

THE first in a series of three custom-made workshops, which are part of a targeted 2019 sales drive to provide an opportunity for tourism businesses to meet and pitch directly to overseas buyers, has been hosted by Fáilte Ireland.

Laura Tangney, Killarney Jaunting Cars and Tangney Tours, Marlene Burke, Fáilte Ireland, Aisling Heffernan and Catherine McGovern

Those involved included representatives from Flynn’s Coaches, Killarney Jaunting Cars and Tangney Tours, Sneem Hotel and the Gleneagle Group and they met in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel, Co Meath with buyers from the UK, Canada and long haul markets.

Oonagh Kelly of Fáilte Ireland remarked: “Contacts and contracts made will assist ongoing growth in Irish tourism in 2019. The buyers have the capacity to deliver significant amounts of visitors to Kerry throughout the year as Ireland continues to have very strong appeal as a destination.

To further showcase what Ireland can truly offer, Fáilte Ireland has also put together a number of specially crafted tours for the travel agents to get out and about, learn more about the country first-hand and get an authentic taste of what an Irish holiday can offer.
