ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – The city of Alexandria is part of a video series aimed at bringing in international tourists.
Brand USA, the destination marketing organization for the country, has partnered with the Louisiana Office of Tourism to produce a series of videos designed to promote Alexandria, and other cities in Louisiana, to the world.
The video series will tour popular Louisiana tourist destinations with a video crew on hand to record the sights and sounds of Louisiana culture.
The group’s first stop was in Lake Charles. On Friday, Fatima El Shibli and Meetu Chilana, hosts of the Brand USA video series, made a stop to the River Oaks Square Art center to tour the highlights of Central Louisiana’s art scene.
“Promoting international tourism, there seems to be a lot more interest in Louisiana, so this is going to be promoting Louisiana culture, food,” said Chilana.
With expanded direct service to New Orleans through British Airways from multiple European locations, the state is expecting international travel to Louisiana to continue to grow. The next stop on Brand USA’s trip is Lafayette, followed by a visit to the Northshore and a final stop in New Orleans.
