To boost tourism in the state, the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) will hold its 64th annual convention here in March.
An official statement said over 500 travel agents from across the country were expected to participate in the annual convention scheduled from March 27 to 30.

It said the announcement was made on Wednesday by Sunil Kumar, TAAI president, at New Delhi in the presence of Sarmad Hafeez, secretary, Tourism, and Mahmood A Shah, Director, Tourism, Kashmir.
Stating that J&K was one of the prime tourists destinations in India, Kumar said the TAAI convention would help travel agents get familiar with the beauty and hospitality of the state.
Hafeez said the annual convention would help boost the tourism sector in a big way as leading travel agents from India and other parts of the country would network with the local travel and hospitality sector. He said the state Tourism Department was organising many festivals and cultural activities in the state to entertain tourists visiting the state.
Shah also spoke on the occasion and said the convention was like a “homecoming” for travel agents.
“It is after 30 years that the TAAI convention is taking place in Kashmir. It’’ll be a homecoming for you to visit Kashmir and see for yourself the beautiful landscape, culture, art and craft, and the hospitable the people of the state,” Shah said.
