Travel Penticton is asking for help demonstrating the region is still open for business in spite of wildfires.
In a message to local business last weekend, the tourism agency asked that videos and photos showing “real time” conditions be posted to social media channels each day at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. to show that life is going on as usual during fire season.

It also asks that any questions from customers or travellers be directed to Travel Penticton to ensure “one voice, one message.”
Tourism officials have complained in recent years that the media’s reporting of flooding and fires is keeping visitors away.
