City residents have the chance to become a “Gintern” – someone who travels the world drinking gin – according to our sister title WalesOnline .
One London-based bar chain is willing to pay for someone to travel the world and drink gin.
And they will also get to take a friend with them.
The Inception Group, which owns the bars Mr Fogg’s, has teamed up with the gin company Bombay Sapphire to recruit a global ambassador.
The successful candidate, and their travelling companion, will follow in the adventurous footsteps of Phileas J. Fogg.
On a trip inspired by Jules Verne’s Around the World in Eighty Days, the “explorers” will travel across the globe from Bombay to Hong Kong, Paris to New York, Japan to San Francisco.
They will be responsible for collecting botanicals and necessary items along the way, and then the adventurers are required to return to London within 80 days, and be ready to create their very own ‘Around the World Cocktail’ at Mr Fogg’s Society of Exploration.
The job advert has a one slightly unusual criteria: “Willing to clothe oneself in Victorian finery”.
Applicants also need to be prominent on social media, be a good writer, and able to take well-lit photographs. They must also be at least 21 years old.
