Heavy snow and ice is causing travel chaos as a blast dubbed “the Beast from the East” sweeps Britain.
Snow flurries have swept across eastern England on Monday, from the north east down to London, and it’s set to become even more widespread.
Commuters have been told by Southeastern railway to complete their evening journeys by 6pm to avoid disruption.
On Tuesday, a ‘yellow’ warning of snow covers almost all of Great Britain, with more severe ‘amber’ warnings for the east of England the south east.
On Wednesday, the amber warning extends from Scotland through the north of England down to the West Midlands.
The Met Office says that by the end of Wednesday, more than 20cm of snow may have accumulated in some parts.
