For most, graduating from university is synonymous with temp work, unpaid internships and existential angst, but one lucky soul this summer is set to have a wholly different experience.
Price comparison website comparethemarket.com today launched a competition to find a graduate ‘Travel Advisor’. The successful applicant will receive a round-the-world ticket and photography equipment and in turn will be required to produce snaps and video content from their travels, as well as write a monthly blog.
You could do that, right? There are a few provisos. Applicants must be in their final year at a UK university, and in order to enter, they will need to take time out of their hectic revision schedule to write a 200-word personal statement explaining why they would be the best person for the job. Applications close at midnight on April 30.
Travel specialists at comparethemarket.com will select five finalists, who will then need to submit a short YouTube video, in which they will again need to make the case for their suitability for the role. The winning candidate will then be decided by a online public vote.
As part of the experience, the ‘Travel Advisor’ will need to visit at least eight countries (what a hardship), while they will need to commit to producing 10 photographs a month and one video from their whole trip.
