What starts as a stilted three-way conversation, with especially tense banter between a Republican, Democrat, and an Independent, quickly loosens up after a smoke session.
Cut put three young Americans of different political persuasions in front of a camera and a solid supply of marijuana and snacks. The eight-minute video covers the media, immigration, voting, and, of course President Donald Trump. “We’ve intensified the negativity,” the Independent in the middle says, sparking a discussion about social media and Trump’s influence on political discourse.
After a bong rip, the political discussion heats up even more.
Within an hour the Republican and Democrat high-five despite opposing views on Trump. A round of “Kill, F*ck, Marry” with Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, and Donald Trump also brings the trio closer together.
At one point the Republican says, “I think he’s a shitty human being, though,” conceding her views on Trump.
Moments of seriousness about race, immigration, and poverty are dotted with giggles, snacking, and forgotten trains of thought.
It all devolves at the end with the Republican singing her heart out to an off-tune “Star-Spangled Banner” and everyone too high to really care about politics.
