In the heart of Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, amidst breath-taking sceneries and emerald waters, the iconic Hotel Cala di Volpe is delighted to welcome back superstar chef Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa, one of the most influential chefs in the world, for new, one-of-a-kind culinary experiences this summer.
An exclusive occasion to celebrate a strong connection between legendary icons that share similar values and strive equally for the fulfilment of the highest luxury experiences, the partnership between Matsuhisa and Hotel Cala di Volpe started in 2018 with a seasonal pop-up project. The following year marked the opening of ‘Matsuhisa at Cala di Volpe’ Restaurant, set in a prestigious area of the hotel with breath-taking views of the hotel’s bay, one of the most famous vistas in the Mediterranean. Designed as a destination unto itself, Hotel Cala di Volpe once again sets the scene for exceptional events and offers unique experiences to its guests.
EXCEPTIONAL CULINARY EXPERIENCES
Born in Japan, Nobu Matsuhisa traveled extensively during his career, from Peru to Argentina and Alaska and eventually settling in Los Angeles. Over the course of his working career, he developed his one-of-a-kind Nobu style cuisine and introduced the concept of a “New Style Japanese Cuisine”, incorporating elements of international delicacies. He built a culinary empire, but the root of his cuisine started by mastering the art of sushi.
From June 7th and 9th, the world-renowned and highly influential Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa will be at the iconic Hotel Cala di Volpe to welcome guests and share his culinary secrets through a masterclass and an exclusive handcrafted dinner.
For those who wish to learn and sample authentic Matsuhisa cuisine, the iconic hotel will offer a once-in-a-lifetime private sushi making lesson on June 7th, an Exclusive Sushi Masterclass by Corporate Chef Hideki Endo with the presence of the celebrity chef Matsuhisa Nobu. The chefs will reveal all the secrets behind the art of sushi and guide guests through an exceptional journey behind the counter. Guests of any culinary level can sign up for this exclusive cooking experience in advance. Seats are limited for this event (only 6 seats available).*
The same day, Matsuhisa at Cala di Volpe Restaurant will host an exclusive dinner in the presence of the beloved chef. For the special occasion, an “Omakase” dinner menu will be carefully crafted by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Guests will be able to taste new dishes based on his techniques and local ingredients, which will then be incorporated in the restaurant’s summer menu.*
