Zuma to open Tourism Indaba in Durban

DURBAN – President Jacob Zuma will officially open the Tourism Indaba at the Chief Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban on Tuesday.
Over 7,000 delegates are expected to attend the biggest trade show on the continent.

Nearly half a billion rand was allocated by government to promote tourism over the next three years.
EThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede says the city is more than ready to host the delegates.
“In terms of our security, hotels and communities, we’re more than ready.”
Kwazulu-Natal Economic Development MEC Sihle Zikalala says the annual event contributes toward 10% of the province’s GDP.
The Presidency says the indaba will also boost efforts to have more South Africans travelling within the country and playing a major role in radical economic transformation.
