Turkish Airlines has released the latest figures for passenger and cargo traffic in May. In comparison to the previous year, the airline has expanded its capacity by 7.3% in terms of available seat kilometers. During this period, Turkish Airlines successfully transported a total of 7.2 million passengers, resulting in an impressive total load factor of 79.8%.
The total number of passengers transported was 7.2 million, with a load factor of 79.3% for international flights and 84.2% for domestic flights. The number of passengers transferring from international to international flights rose by 3.6% from 2.4 million in 2023 to 2.5 million in 2024. Available seat kilometers (ASK) also saw an increase of 7.3% from 19.9 billion to 21.3 billion in May 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. Furthermore, the amount of cargo/mail carried in May 2024 surged by 28.8% from 135.4 thousand tons to 174.4 thousand tons compared to May 2023.
The number of passengers grew by 5.7% to reach 32.8 million, compared to the corresponding period in 2023. Specifically, the number of international-to-international passengers increased by 7% from 11.8 million to 12.6 million during the same period in 2023.
