Hong Kong Airlines is pleased to announce the expansion of its regional route network with the introduction of new direct flights to Chiang Mai, Thailand, commencing on 27 October 2024. This new daily service represents Hong Kong Airlines‘ third destination in Thailand, joining Bangkok and Phuket, thereby offering travelers enhanced opportunities to explore this dynamic country.
Located in northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is celebrated for its rich cultural heritage, stunning ancient temples, and serene ambiance, making it an attractive destination for solo adventurers and those in search of a peaceful getaway. As a prominent cultural center, Chiang Mai is home to many of Thailand’s most vibrant festivals and features several UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Visitors arriving in November will have the chance to partake in the enchanting Loy Krathong Festival of Light. This captivating event transforms Chiang Mai with vibrant parades, traditional performances, and the breathtaking sight of thousands of illuminated “krathongs” (lotus-shaped baskets decorated with flowers and candles) released onto the rivers. The spectacle of countless lanterns ascending into the night sky, carrying hopes and blessings, is an experience that remains etched in memory.
