Boeing and Emirates SkyCargo have revealed a new agreement for the acquisition of five more 777 Freighters, solidifying the operator’s choice of the most advanced twin-engine freighter to address the increasing demand for cargo transportation. With this latest purchase, Emirates’ total order for Boeing widebody aircraft now stands at 245, which includes 10 777 Freighters.

Emirates SkyCargo serves as the cargo division of Emirates, which is recognized as the largest international airline globally. The 777 Freighter’s investment is expected to increase the main deck cargo capacity by 30 percent by 2026. Ultimately, Emirates’ freighter fleet is set to expand to 17 aircraft, encompassing 777 Freighters, 777 converted freighters, and 747 Freighters.

The 777 Freighter boasts an impressive range of 9,200 kilometers (4,970 nautical miles) and a payload capacity of 102 metric tons (112 tons), surpassing all other twin-engine cargo jets. With this exceptional range and payload capability, operators can provide extended nonstop flights to connect key markets like the Middle East with the U.S. and Europe, facilitating the transportation of valuable cargo without the need for refueling.
