Aria Hotels, the Greek-born hospitality arm of Libra Group, is embarking on an ambitious project to construct and oversee four vertiports in Greece. These vertiports, strategically located in Athens, the southern mainland, and the Aegean islands, will serve as hubs for eVTOL aircraft, revolutionizing regional connectivity and promoting sustainable tourism. This groundbreaking initiative is part of Aria Hotels’ €50 million investment, which aims to drive the adoption of eVTOL technology and contribute to Greece’s sustainable economic growth.
Aria Hotels, known for its collection of approximately 70 boutique properties throughout Greece, is renowned for providing authentic Greek experiences. In a remarkable move, the company became one of the first in the world, and the first in Greece, to directly lease innovative eVTOL aircraft in 2022. Through a partnership with LCI, a leading aircraft lessor and aerospace subsidiary of Libra Group, Aria Hotels has secured 10 cutting-edge ALIA eVTOLs, all powered by electricity and developed by BETA Technologies.
The forthcoming vertiports will include electric charging facilities and areas for customer relaxation, resulting in a reduced space requirement and minimal environmental impact when compared to conventional aircraft infrastructure.
