A delegation from China’s Hainan Province in the south recently embarked on a visit to South Korea and the United States to engage in economic, trade, and cultural exchange endeavors. Through the promotion of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) policies and the showcasing of remarkable achievements in high-quality development, Hainan has strengthened its economic, trade, tourism, and cultural connections with both nations. Notably, agreements pertaining to cultural tourism, medical and healthcare services, green and low carbon development, high-end consumption, new technology, and financial investment were signed, further solidifying these ties.
During the 19th Jeju Forum and the 9th Trilateral Summit Meeting, representatives from the Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism signed a “Memorandum of Understanding on Collaborative Advancement of Workation Projects” with the Jeju Tourism Exchange Bureau.
During their time in the US, the delegation met with various parties to implement cooperation projects such as sister city visits, direct flights, climate change response, clean energy, agricultural technology, education, and medical tourism.
