Mexicana de Aviación, the state-owned carrier of Mexico, has placed an order for 20 Embraer E2 aircraft. The agreement includes 10 E190-E2 and 10 E195-E2 jets, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2025. Mexicana plans to configure the E190-E2 with 108 seats and the E195-E2 with 132 seats, both featuring a single-class layout.
As the first E2 operator in Mexico, Mexicana will benefit from the aircraft’s cost-effectiveness and fuel efficiency, underscoring the airline’s and Embraer‘s dedication to sustainability and enhancing aviation efficiency.
By making this strategic choice, the national airline of Mexico will expand and update its fleet, enhancing both domestic and international connectivity to provide cost-effective and pleasant air travel, while maintaining the utmost levels of safety and service.
Mexicana’s commitment to operational excellence and customer service is evident in its impressive track record. With 18 destinations already served, the airline has successfully transported over 115,000 passengers, accumulating an impressive 3,280 flight hours in a relatively short period of time.
