HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions), the expedition cruise company, announced the selection of Gebhard Rainer as its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer. Rainer’s vast expertise and strategic foresight will propel HX towards its forthcoming stage of expansion and advancement. With the establishment of two independent management teams for HX and Hurtigruten, Daniel Skjeldam, the current Group CEO and CEO for HX, will transition to a position as a board member in Hurtigruten Group.
Hurtigruten Group has embarked on a new strategic plan for 2021. The aim is to unlock the full potential of both Hurtigruten and HX by establishing HX as an independent entity solely dedicated to the global expedition cruise market. The appointment of Gebhard signifies a strong commitment to executing HX’s strategy and financial plan, marking a significant step towards achieving complete autonomy with Executive Leadership Team and board.
