WestJet is commemorating the commencement of its first-ever flight between Halifax and Edinburgh with the departure of WS46 from Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) at 10:35 p.m. local time.

This new service signifies a significant achievement for the WestJet Group as it strives to enhance Halifax’s connectivity throughout the summer season. Furthermore, the airline rejoiced in the resumption of non-stop flights between Halifax and Dublin on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Andrew Gibbons, WestJet’s Vice-President of External Affairs, said that this flight is yet another significant achievement in airline’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Atlantic Canada’s business and leisure connections through air travel.

By inaugurating this service today, WestJet is delighted to reinforce the bond between Halifax and Edinburgh, while simultaneously expanding our strategic air access throughout the region. This further solidifies carrier’s position as Canada’s prime leisure airline.
